Match Preview: St Josephs vs Vale

Our men’s Division 3 team make the short trip to Tinryland on Sunday to take on St Josephs.

The fixture represents another local derby in quick succession after this team’s 1-1 draw with Nurney Villa last week.  That game saw another good performance from this young team under Paddy Kerr and Colm Myles.  The obvious highlight of that game was a Dinny Byrne wonder goal, the likes of which the veteran’s body will surely never re-produce!  However the battling performance will have been equally as pleasing for the squad.

Coach Paddy Kerr had this to say looking ahead to the game:

Really looking forward to the match tomorrow, especially as all the players have informed me that will not be going to the pub tonight to watch the boys in green!

Club legend Alan Quinn is a doubt after injuring his back in last week’s game.  The injury took up a significant portion of last week’s match report so I am sure you heard about it. Another club legend Ronnie Devine returned to training this week after claiming he was not receiving texts about training since June.

The two teams are propping up the table.  Vale will be eager to get three points from the game that their recent performances have deserved.

The game kicks off at 2pm in Tinryland, if you are around the area pop to watch this local derby.
