Match Report: Vale vs Killeshin

Vale welcomed Killeshin to The Superbowl in the Douglas Jewellers Carlow Cup on Sunday.  Having recently lost to Killeshin in the league the Vale boys were eager to turn the result around.  Club legend and all round good guy Alan Quinn was missing from the squad with injury.  As too were the Leighlin Ibra (Shaw) and the Leighlin Butcher (Clarke).

Killeshin got off to a great start and went 1 up on 7 mins. The goal woke up Vale and they attacked Killeshin in numbers and on 13 minutes Connor Byrne whipped in a great cross that Kieran Casey rose to head in.

3 minutes later and Pat Meaney was brought down in box and Kieran Casey stepped up and made no mistake from the spot. It was all Vale now but Killeshin were still causing trouble for the Vale defense and Dean Collins had to clear off the line. Then 4 minutes before halftime Pat Meaney broke from midfield to put Vale 3-1 up at HT.

Eoghan Dowling hit a great shot at the start of the 2ND half but it went inches wide. There was chances for both teams in the 2ND half but no more goals in a really exciting match. FT 3-1.

This was Vales best team performance of the season with Darren O Keefe, Dean Collins , Jordan Doyle , Paddy Dowling and Kieran Casey standing out.
