Match Preview: Vale vs Killeshin

These two teams face each other again this week after last week’s Douglas Jewellers Cup game which Vale won 3-1.

That game was an entertaining encounter, as was the recent league meeting which saw Killeshin beat Vale by two goals to one.  Vale are five points off Killeshin in the table and will be eager to take maximum points here to help progress up the table in the coming weeks.

Coach Paddy Kerr had this to say about the fixture:

After a positive result last week in the cup, the team are just chomping at the bit to get to play the league game which happens to be last week’s opponents Killeshin.  The team will not be complacent and we will keep the positive and buoyant mood in the camp.  After his fine performance last week we will also be hoping resident linesman Willie Costigan will be available for selection again

On the injury front, Vale have good news in that Alan Quinn is available again following his back injury.  Quinn will be delighted to be back in the fold and to make the day even more special Quinn is this week celebrating his 8 year Facebook friend anniversary with another club legend Ronnie Devine.

The Leighlin Ibra (Shaw) and The Leighlin Butcher (Clarke) will face late fitness tests to see if they are available.

The game kicks off on Sunday in the Superbowl at 2pm.  Immediately after the first team game in The Superbowl.  Here’s hoping for a Super Sunday of victories for our Men’s teams this week.
