Match Preview: Castle Rangers vs Vale

Our Men’s first team travel to Carlow Town on Sunday to take on Castle Rangers in the Herald Striker Division 1 league.

Vale come into this game after late drama against Baltinglass Town last week.  Despite dropping points at home, the mood in the camp is excellent as the team is now unbeaten in five league games.

Castle Rangers are coming in on the back of a narrow defeat to second placed Dolmen Celtic.  Rangers have played a game more than Vale but a win for Vale would see them jump ahead of Rangers in the table.  While Rangers will be looking to take three points to keep the pressure on Dolmen Celtic.

Coach Podge Doyle had this to say about the fixture:

Exciting fixture on Sunday against a very good Castle Rangers side, but currently we fear no team. The performance last week was one of the best and the application of the team to get a very good point when it looked over, created a team mentality that is very hard to overcome.

The league table continues to make for interesting reading.

The game kicks off at 11am in the Carlow Youth Centre, if you are around the town pop in for what should be a close contest.
